Lifetime Care for Jewelry That Means Something
At McKay Diamonds, we believe jewelry should last a lifetime — just like the memories and milestones it represents. Every piece we create is built with love, intention, and exceptional craftsmanship, and we stand behind it for life.
As a small, family-run studio, we take pride in offering personal, long-term support for every client and every piece we create.
We offer a lifetime warranty on all fine jewelry purchased through our studio. This includes:
Ring resizing (within safe limits for the design and stone setting)
Professional cleaning and polishing
Prong retipping and tightening to keep stones secure
Stone resetting (when the original stone is intact)
Rhodium plating for white gold jewelry
Ongoing inspections and general maintenance
These services are provided at no cost for the lifetime of your jewelry, as long as you meet the inspection requirement below.
To ensure the longevity of your jewelry and the validity of your lifetime warranty, we ask that you bring your piece in for an annual inspection. This is crucial for us to check for any loose stones, prongs, or signs of wear that may need attention. The inspection is complimentary, and we recommend doing this every 12 months.
Regular inspections help us catch any potential issues before they become more significant, ensuring your jewelry stays in excellent condition for years to come.
Our lifetime warranty does not include:
Replacement of lost or damaged stones
Damage caused by accidents, misuse, or neglect
Repairs performed by third-party jewelers (this voids the warranty)
Pieces that have been altered outside of our studio
Excessive damage, such as the need for a new shank (ring band) due to wear or impact
Note: A shank replacement is considered a significant repair, and is not covered under the lifetime warranty. We can, however, provide an estimate and arrange for the necessary repairs if needed.
We strongly recommend that valuable or sentimental pieces be insured separately for coverage in case of loss, theft, or accidental damage.
If you need warranty service, simply contact us and we’ll guide you through the next steps. You may need to ship your jewelry to our studio (we can provide instructions and advice on safe packaging and insurance). Turnaround times vary depending on the service but are typically between 1–3 weeks.
If you're local, you're always welcome to drop by for a complimentary inspection without the need for an appointment. We are happy to take care of your jewelry while you wait (or schedule a time for pick-up if necessary).
