Q: How long will my jewelry repair take?


A: Because we have a skilled in-house jeweler, all repairs are completed right here in our store—no need to ship your pieces out, which saves time and ensures quality. The turnaround time depends on the condition of your jewelry and the complexity of the repair, but most repairs are completed within 1 to 10 business days. For rush requests or time-sensitive repairs, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to accommodate when possible.

 


Q: What kinds of services do you offer?


A: We offer a wide range of services including ring resizing, chain and clasp repairs, watch repairs, stone setting, custom jewelry design, and much more. Q: What diamonds or gemstones can I choose for a custom design? And how long does the process take?


A: The possibilities are nearly endless. Whether you’re interested in natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, or colored gemstones of any variety, we can help source the perfect stone for your piece. Our custom designs are made by hand, allowing you to be flexible with your budget and fully in control of the final look.

The timeline for custom work depends on the complexity of the design, our current workload, and the availability of materials. Most custom projects take 3 to 21 days, but if you have a specific date in mind, let us know—we’ll do our best to make it happen!

 


Q: How does the appraisal process work? Do I need an appointment?


A: Our appraisal process is designed to be straightforward and stress-free. Most importantly, you don’t need to leave your jewelry with us. The initial appointment takes around 15–30 minutes. During that time, we photograph your items, record all weights and measurements, and our jeweler evaluates the pieces in person.

You’ll receive an official, written appraisal by email within about a week, and we’ll also mail a physical copy. While walk-ins are welcome, we do recommend calling ahead to ensure the jeweler is available. For clients traveling from out of town or bringing 10 or more pieces, we kindly ask that you schedule an appointment in advance so we can give your items the time and care they deserve.

Q: Can I bring in my own stone or heirloom jewelry for a new design?


A: Absolutely! Many of our customers choose to incorporate family heirlooms or personally sourced stones into custom pieces. We would love to help you reimagine something meaningful. Our jeweler will carefully inspect your stone to ensure it’s suitable for your desired setting, and we’ll walk you through your design options from there.

 


Q: Do you repair or resize jewelry not purchased from McKay Diamonds?


A: Yes, we do! We’re happy to work on pieces purchased elsewhere. Whether it's a simple chain repair or a full ring resizing, we treat every item with care and offer the same quality service no matter where it came from.

 


Q: Do you offer gift wrapping or special packaging?


A: Yes! We offer complimentary gift wrapping for special occasions. Just let us know at the time of purchase or during checkout, and we’ll make sure your item is beautifully packaged and ready to give.

 


Q: Can I schedule an appointment to talk about a custom design?


A: Absolutely. While walk-ins are always welcome, we recommend scheduling an appointment if you’d like to discuss a custom piece in detail. This gives us time to prepare stone options, sketches, and have the jeweler available to meet with you one-on-one. We also offer virtual consultations if you're not located nearby!

 


Q: What are your business hours?


A: Our current business hours are Monday thru Friday 10 A.M. to 7 P.M and Saturdays 11 A.M. to 6 P.M.. If you're planning to stop by or meet with our jeweler, feel free to call ahead—we’ll make sure someone is available to assist you.

 


Q: Do you offer financing or payment plans?


A: Yes, we do! McKay Diamonds offers a layaway program for customers who would like to pay over time. This is a great option for those working within a budget or planning for a special occasion. Layaway terms are flexible and handled personally—just stop by or give us a call to discuss a plan that works best for you. We’re happy to help make your dream piece more accessible!
